The word "warranty" is a lot like the word "bread." Both mean something specific and both come in countless varieties; by themselves both words are very general in nature.
The tool manufacture determines what the warranty is for their line of tools. Tool brand Blue is different from tool brand Green which is different from tool brand Red, etc........they are all different.
Generally, the tool manufacture will replace/repair an item that is a manufacturer's defect. In most cases, warranties do not cover failures due to normal wear and tear. Just because something wore out faster than you think is should have does not mean that it is a manufacturer's defect even if it is still within the time coverage of the warranty. Virtually all the warranties are LIMITED in the scope of their coverage.
Simply reading and understanding the full warranty statement for your brand of tool will eliminate most concerns and issues about whether a repair is covered by warranty or not. As a tool owner and user, there are always requirements that the manufacture makes of you. Read & understand what they are.
Advertisements and images on packaging do not contain the full text of your warranty. In our opinion, much of the advertising and information on packaging of power tools is misleading at best. Remember, they are trying to sell you something. The old advertising saying is something like "the sizzle sells better than the steak."
Some manufactures are extremely strict in how they deal with warranty issues. Some are more liberal. Each manufacture does things their way.
As an Authorized Service Station for the different manufactures, the staff of Hoeksema Tool Service must abide by each manufacturer's way of dealing with warranty situations. They are all very different.
We aim to provide the best possible service to you, our customer. And please, READ THE FINE PRINT!
